Chris Ruppel Biography

Mr. Ruppel formed Merion Capital LLC in 2000.

Mr. Ruppel spent 25 years at The Upjohn Company and remained with the Pharmacia Corporation for another three years after the merger of The Upjohn Company and the Pharmacia Corporation of Sweden.

Mr. Ruppel retired as Finance Director at Pharmacia Corporation where he was managing domestic U.S. and international equity and fixed income portfolios with assets in excess of $1.6 billion. As finance director, Mr. Ruppel had responsibilities for the financing of subsidiaries in 29 countries in dollars and in local currencies.

While at The Upjohn Company Mr. Ruppel negotiated and implemented major corporate financings in Japan, China, Germany, Puerto Rico, and South Africa as well as several tax-advantaged bond refinancings in the U.S. Mr. Ruppel served a global cash manager and as an internal auditor at The Upjohn Company.

Mr. Ruppel has served as the Vice-chair of various municipal and county investment committees with combined assets in excess of $840 million.

Investment Philosophy

Merion Capital’s investment philosophy embodies the following principles derived from academic research and the principles of modern finance:
